It features Quatrefolic®, which is an active form of folate called 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (or 5-MTHF for short). This is important for people with a genetic difference in the enzyme that activates folic acid, known as MTHFR, to be able to properly utilise folate. Perdays Preconception Activated Folate & B-Vitamins can be taken before, during and after pregnancy. It is recommended to start taking a folate supplement 1-3 months before trying to conceive, to help ensure your levels are optimised before conception. You should continue folate supplementation throughout pregnancy where folate demands increase from 400 mcg per day to 600 mcg per day.
